OS 1.1.0 Bugs

Post by blewis » Sun Oct 12, 2014 6:22 pm

I thought that it would be informative for the community to record any confirmed bugs in this thread. This thread can track OS 1.1.0.

The ground rules here is that you should only post bugs that you have discussed with DSI support and they have acknowledged the issue. Please do not record "wish list" items or "this might be a bug" items here.

Acknowledged bugs OS 1.1.0:
- Using Global Settings Mono/Stereo switch does not sum delay outputs to mono when switched to mono.
- When Filter 2 is in HPF mode, crackling is audible when adjusting the resonance parameter.
- Bank Number Not Stored in Playlist After Powerdown
- Sliders send Params when MIDI Param Send OFF

Consolidated from other posts:
- Can't change the program or bank on the Pro 2 with local control set to OFF.
- In cue/playlist mode when switching between different patches, midi sync is lost.
- Program Change messages are sent out one channel higher than the specified midi channel.

I'm encouraged that after 80+ reads, there haven't been any additions. I think that's good news as most of these seem easy to address.

Confirmed the following bug with DSI support:

In cue/playlist mode when switching between different patches, midi sync is lost.

Apparently it's slated for fixing on future OS, though they have no eta.

Theres the sequencer bug on track 1 as well where you cannot choose a Destination midi port/channel in the mod matrix.

I think that might remain but it should have been possible to route sequencer track 1 to a midi port/channel by using a mod slot.

Also the fixed routing for SEQ track 1 only allows "SeqNote" or "Seq out 2 channel 16" other seq destinations are missing, and those two are greyed out even though you can select them.

Also confirmed another minor midi bug today-- program change messages are sent out one channel higher than the specified midi channel.

As someone once said there are two hard problems in Computer Science: Cache invalidation, naming things, and off by one-errors.

Not sure if this is an OS bug or not, but the tempo jumping when slaved to MPC1000 clock sure is annoying. (I know MIDI timing is not perfect, but I have never had this problem before with any other synth, and it causes the tempo-synced delays to audibly jump.)

Send DSI an email to confirm it and report back please.

Hopefully this thread can remain a list of _confirmed_ bugs.

not just sliders transmit when disabled in globals but mod wheel is trasmitted. also 3 out of 5 times the mod wheel when moved to the zero position sends a midi "reset" message regardless if cc and nrpns are blocked out in globals. confirmed this with at least one other pro2 owner. sent a support request to confirm this at dsi.

When Midi over USB is selected and MidiOut2 is routed as "through", no data arrives there...

When the MidiOut2 is selected as "Midi Out", also no data arrives there, even when played on the keyboard.

So this MidiOut2 port is quite useless :?:

Just got my PRO 2, and the latest OS was installed. Sometimes when I turn it on, all the sound is messed up, and there's a bunch of digital noise. But if I turn it off and back on, it goes away. This leads me to believe it's some sort of software thing, but I haven't heard anyone mention this. It's happened about 4 times in the course of a day using it. Is this normal?

Same here. Certainly some kind of bug. Never had another synth do this.

As you say, toggle the power and it's back to normal.

The strange thing is, I just asked someone else who has owned one for about a month and this has never happend to his even once. This has happened to me about four times since owning it for one day. But it seems like a software thing since it goes away after turning it off and back on. If it were hardware related, I'd think the sound would just stay messed up and turning it off and back on wouldn't help.
