P12 Signal Path

Post by Throttler » Wed Aug 13, 2014 3:11 pm

Hello everyone,

I tried to make a more detailed schematic of the signal flow of the P12 for my better understanding, and I thought why not share it with the forum. :)

In case something is wrong or missing any feedback welcome.

I'm wondering if the feedback loop is analog instead of digital.

I notice that you don't seem to include the per-delay feedback path... I guess that comes after the per-delay lp/hp filter and loops around?

Another interesting question for me is where exactly the delay "amount" parameter is applied, ...

I've made a similar chart to help me understand the P12 architecture. My idea was if the P12 was a modular synth, what might the control panel layout look like? Double circles represent on/off parameters...single circles with an arrow pointing in represent modulation destinations...single circles with an arrow pointing away represent modulation sources. My concept is that the 24 modulation matrix entries represent 24 possible modular synth wires connecting these single circles.

It may not be the most elegant thing with the modules handwritten on graph paper, cut out and arranged by hand...but it was fun, I learned a lot, and it's really handy having the chart nearby for reference

...and if it really were a modular like that in Euro format, it would cost more than the P12 by a considerable margin!!

Spot on! And that would only be a monophonic Eurorack modular...imagine how much it would cost to build a 12 voice Eurorack modular with this architecture
