Re: Pro12 Module or P6 for PADS, Textures, etcc..

I own the P12 keyboard. The P6 and Pro2 share the low-pass filter, so they sound more analog than the P12. Do not expect the P12 to replace the Pro2 in sound. The Pro2, P12 and P6 all sound different. A P12 with the Pro2/P6 filter would be nice, but does not exist. And it might lose some of the edgy...

Re: Pro12 Module or P6 for PADS, Textures, etcc..

The P6 pads are warmer but simpler. They sound very nice when sweeping the filters, where the P12 can get a bit harsh. The P12 pads are more complex and dynamic. They can evolve quite a lot. There are twice as many voices on the P12, so you won't run out with long releases, unlike on the P6. Also, t...

Re: P6 or p12. opinions from those that have both

I own both and I can't decide. :) They are both great. If you really like the P12, you will probably miss a lot on the P6. It is quite a different beast. In my case, at first, going through the presets on the P6, I thought most sounds were too similar to the P12, just less complex/interesting. There...

Re: The high-pass filter. What unique value does it bring to the Prophet 6?

I see how the high-pass filter is useful for sound sculpting. I just wonder if something else would have been more useful on an analog, like a second LFO (the Moog Sub 37 has this configuration) or different slopes for the low-pass. I have since learned that some vintage synths also included high-pa...

Re: Poly chain Prophet 6 keyboards?

That is magnificent! Thank you for including the keyboard. So many interesting possibilities... 12 voices. Two-part multitimbral. Layers and splits. 98 keys organ-style. 8 octaves. :D

Similar ribbons available separately?

I really dig the two Prophet 12 ribbons (aka Performance Touch Controllers) for rapid, rhythmic and precise finger modulation. I find this impossible to replicate with pedals, aftertouch and other controls. Does anyone know of similar ribbons (or rapid inputs) available separately that can control o...

Poly chain Prophet 6 keyboards?

When announcing the Prophet 6 module, a new feature was introduced:
We’ve also added a poly chain feature so that any two Prophet-6s can be paired for twelve-voice polyphony!
Does this include the Prophet 6 keyboard? Can a keyboard poly chain to a module? Can two keyboards poly chain together?

Re: PROPHET-12 Keyboard keybed

Would it be possible to approximate the feel of the Prophet 6 keyboard by exchanging the springs or something on the Prophet 12 keyboard?

The high-pass filter. What unique value does it bring to the Prophet 6?

I really like the sound and feel of the Prophet 6! But I don't quite understand the value of the high-pass filter on this particular synth. I understand what a high-pass filter is useful for, just not why it is included here. Based on the presets and my own limited tweaking, applying this filter mak...

Re: Feature Request for Prophet 12

Why was the triangle waveform modified? Was it considered a bug? Or did a vocal group suggest making it more "normal"? Can the old triangle be approximated by "morphing" it with one of the other waveforms? As I understand it the sawtooth waveform is not the issue here but rather the range of the fil...

Re: Fix the sawtooth and pulse waves, please.

Don't stop now! You've come this far, let us gather enough objective data to reach a scientific conclusion to this matter. :D Is the sawtooth broken or was it purposefully designed to be "nasty"? Does the filter purposefully distort the sawtooth past a certain point? Does this affect only a few boar...

Re: Oversight

Keyboards (meaning the board of keys only) should come in standard sizes with a standard plug-in interface. All new synths should be keyboard-less, but supporting this standard interface. Then, when you buy a new synth you could just plug in whichever keyboard you want, or not if you prefer to run t...

Poly-Mod

Hi folks!

I'm curious about the Poly-Mod feature. What is it useful for in practice? What kind of sounds does it help produce? Does it somehow compensate for having fewer modulation options/routes and/or for having only one LFO?

Also, what does it stand for? Polyphonic Modulation?

Thanks.
