Re: Sticky keys

Mine do this after a week or so of not using. Weird, but not a problem though. One tap on all of them and they're back to normal

Re: DSI now have an OFFICIAL forum... anyone on this?

I've shifted over to the other forum for the most part. It's a good foundation but has not gained much traffic yet. It'd be nice to be all in one spot.

Re: RIP

As the cold weather returns so will more traffic on this forum. I think what we all notice is that with the relative percentage of traffic on the forum at present, more of it now is purly technical versus artistic conversation. Nothing wrong with that, however I like to see both. In my opinion DSI i...

Re: Pro2 Main 1.1.14

Since updating to 1.1.14 I've had 8 instances of the main screen display simply go dark. Instrument continues to function, as well as controls, but unit needs to be turned off and back on again to get display to work again! This seems like a significant bug. I've noticed No real patern. Twice thoug...

Re: Starting a small modular

I'm happy with the Pittsburg Foundation synth I have. It does sound great so you won't be disappointed. I had not really considered the CV abilities of Pro 2 when I bought it and now I have the two instruments spaced too far apart in my studio to make the kind of idea you discussed work :? I gotta r...

Re: Pro2 Main 1.1.8

Ok, thanks guys. I'll give it a shot. Ok, Looks like it worked :) By the way computer guys....I experimented with sysex dump into midox. I'm not sure it's really traveling from Pro 2 to my computer. Shouldn't there be like a file I can find on my computer after I do this? I'm not familiar with this...

Re: Pro2 Main 1.1.8

Part of the reason I bought the Pro 2 is so I wouldn't need to screw with a computer. I already have enough units hooked up that way and find the Pro 2 refreshingly self-contained. Obviously I'd like to update to 1.1.8, as there look to be some nice fixes. So.... I go to read the instructions for up...

Re: Quality Musical Demonstrations, Please!

Recorded something after a very long break: https://soundcloud.com/f5d/f5d-p12-windscale-pads This 1-layer sound utilizes 4 osc (1 for noise), character section, tuned feedback, audio mod, velocity and aftertouch controlling various things while playing. The tuned feedback can be dangerous, but can...

Re: A question about the pitch wheel

I notice that if i'm not putting my thumb in the half circle where the finger is supposed to be and put my finger below it, the wheel touch the front (not the chassi) I can hear a sound. Only when moving it up and not down (if i put my thumb above it), even with soft pressure. It's not really a pro...

Re: Pro12 owner… should/shouldn't I?

I've had a Pro 2 for almost a week now. I really like the layout flow- which is the best of the DSI synths I've owned. The sound is simply great- but like most any synth company, many of the presets are harsh and unuseable. Anyway....I currently have PEK, PO8 and now, a Pro 2. I sold the Mopho a few...

Re: Pro 2 vs Nord Lead 4. Linear FM on Nord Lead 4 > FM on Pro 2

I originally got the Nord Lead 4 specifically for its FM abilities. I'm happy with it's ability to easily produce the old DX7 and previously "unheard" fm sounds as well. I hadn't consider these instruments (Nord 4/ Pro 2) in the same vain, but I have been eyeing the Pro 2 for quite some ti...

Re: Quality Musical Demonstrations, Please!

Coincidentally I've had a record of an Yngwie Malmsteen concert spinning on the table when I've started to read these recent comments. Exceptionally nice Metal music, interspersed all the time by very beautiful guitar renditions of little excerpts from Bach's and a few other classical composers' wo...

Re: Quality Musical Demonstrations, Please!

My dog always seemed indifferent whether I played a nice classical piece or a hard rock song on the stereo. That always surprised me. But I guess it's all useless sound to him. When I started playing synth stuff several years ago- all changed. I'd play a synth track that I had recorded and he'd imme...

Re: Demos

TAO, I have to agree here. I like the basic layout of the P06 and DSI's commitment to an older-style analog instrument. However I'll probably will shy away- only because I already have a PO8, which sounds the same to me. The P05 in the YouTube attachment does sound super great. I know we always disc...
